Living Word Fellowship of Dinuba was founded in the fall of 1989 by Pastors Charles and Judy Farrice. They pastored LWF for 6 years until Pastor Farrice's untimely death due to illness. The church, devastated by this, became fragmented and nearly disbanded over the next year dropping from 100 members to only about 15 faithful people who would not let the vision die.
Finally, the long search for a Pastor ended when Pastors Mark and Tammy Wallace moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Dinuba along with their three sons in May 1996. Those early days were filled with many difficult challenges that accompany pioneering and rebuilding a work from the ground up. However, faith and tenacity prevailed as God's blessing has been evident by the steady growth over the past 15+ years. Living Word Fellowship now has approximately 650 in weekly attendance and around 100 additional people who are loosely connected each month (visitors, cell attendees only, occasional attendees, etc.).
LWF is held in high regard throughout the community as many of its members hold active leadership positions. Leading the way is Pastor Mark, who served as a City Councilman and/or the Mayor of Dinuba from December 2003 to December 2010.
In 2001, LWF embarked on what was, at the time, the impossible task of purchasing 10 acres of ground with the intent of building a new facility. Though the land was purchased at the remarkable price of $8,800 per acre for a total of $88,000, at the time it seemed like a fortune. The congregation of little more than 100 adults rallied behind the vision and raised the additional funds in only 10 short months. However, over the next 4 years multiple attempts to build on the property hit one obstacle after another and it looked as if the project would never happen.
In the Summer of 2005, Pastor Mark led the congregation into a season of prayer and faith for God's supernatural favor to grace them. Out of nowhere, in August 2005, LWF was offered $1 million for the 10 acres by a housing developer. Again going before the Lord in prayer, Pastor Mark was led to hold on and trust God for a better offer. Finally in October of the same year, the 10 acre parcel was sold at the peek of the real estate boom for the unheard of price of $2.365 million. This equated to $236,500 per acre, the highest sale price of land in the history of Dinuba.
Finally after much prayer and searching, in April 2011, Living Word closed escrow on the purchase of its new facility...the former Bret's Ford Dealership. This new facility located at 105 Westgate Way in Dinuba has enabled them to house the vision and mandate God has given them.
